Director in Mechelen, België
Toying with computers for more than 30 years, and becoming active on the internet as early as 1996, Frederiek Pascal shaped himself into an insightful internet technologist and a specialist in social media and online communities. He also calls himself a perpetual optimist, with a passion for his work, video games, MMA and Radiohead. Playing and tinkering with the latest generation of tech products is his continuing passion, and fuels him with new ideas.
The days of the dial-up modem are gone, but he still loves surfing around the internet, and spends lots of time on social networks such as Twitter, Reddit, Last.fm, Facebook and LinkedIn. This internet addiction also helps him stay on top of all trends, novelties and technology shifts in his industry.
To turn these passions and skills into a business proposition, he founded Sevenede Interactive Media together with Dries Schaballie in 2006, and expanded it into an award-winning web agency, specializing in creative web design, micro sites, video games and viral & interactive marketing. Sevenedge started its run as a company specialised in Flash technology, but during the latter years he changed the core technology focus of his company to the more versatile HTML 5 platform. Operating in an industry that is prone to swift technology changes, he regards being able to retool his company and reschool his team as a key factor to remaining relevant.
Before his Sevenedge days, he started his career at Belgian cable operator and media company Telenet, where he worked as a product manager on the video games division. He developed the Telenet Games community, and rebranded it to 9lives in 2006, helping it grow into the largest Belgian video game community it still is today.
Frederiek Pascal holds a bachelor degree in marketing and PR at Karel de Grote Hogeschool, Antwerp.
